As a creative, it is easy to loose sight of what you love about creating when the grind is on! You carry out commissions and literally go where the money is (for good reason). But this commercial focus can sometimes make us forget why we do what we do, and why we love doing it.

Digital artist, Sphelele Gumede, a.k.a. Ellsphee, can relate. He is now working on the personal series 52.177 to reconnect with the art that he loves. The series is an opportunity for him to step back to rekindle his passion and just create. What’s more, his jarring digital images surely raise any viewers’ emotions - art at its best!
