Black Boys Bloom Too by Von Canon

American artist known as Von Canon takes us along a journey of vulnerability with his Black Boys Bloom Too series. Born in the midst of misrepresentation, discrimination and profiling of Black men and boys in the US, the series depicts the potential, both unrealised and realised, that is possible with a bit of sun, a bit of watering, and a bit of chance.

The American artist uses profile pictures of Black boys and men, and cracks them open to reveal beautiful blossoming flowers in a myriad of colours, bursting out from beneath their skin. Almost in defiance, and with the message that blooming is inevitable.
