Okamura's Definition of Beauty

Tim Okamura is a Canadian artist living in the US, and getting some worthwhile attention from his signature style of representing women of colour. Okamura paints people he meets and shares some connection with, but he is committed to representing those who don’t fit the normal societal definition of beauty.

He works primarily with oil, but in such a gritty way, incorporating a feel of street art into his creations. It’s such a unique thing to see in something you would expect to be ‘fine art’, but which has a much more intense character to it.

We love Okamura’s style and his choice of beauty - African beauty needs all the representation it can get, and seeing someone outside of the ‘community’ share and advance this is amazing!
