Speaking for Sudan by Hashim Nasr
Sudanese photographer, Hashim Nasr, uses his art to pass on a powerful message - one of the heartaches and loss, but also resilience, of family, friends and loved ones in a time of war. With Sudan in the midst of civil war, Hashim, who fled to Egypt with some of his family, aims to raise awareness of the effects of war in his beloved country.
In one image, he talks about the loss of his Uncle back in Sudan by depicting him as an empty kaftan in the midst of his brothers. In another, he emigrates from his country with his suitcase spilling a depiction of blood.
