Ufuk Iso - Face Covering

Photographer and creative director, William Ukoh, recently collaborated with paper artist Pauline Loctin, to shoot Ufuk Iso (translated as ‘face covering’).

The mini photo series is about the masks we are forced to wear to fit in and be accepted in society. Many times, we can never really express how we feel in public, whether it’s among family, friends, work, or the community at large. Whether it’s the fear of being treated differently, of being thought to be weird, of being pitied and misunderstood, and ultimately of not fitting into the mould society expects us to fill. Many reasons cause us to wear these masks.

“The message is to show kindness to people because you never know the battles they wage in private” ~ Pauline Loctin

What mask are you wearing?
