Alexis Eke's Portrait Illustrations

Toronto-based illustrator, Alexis Eke, wants to see more Black female representation in art and design. Through school, this was a rare thing for her indeed, but she’s committed to doing something about this, and dedicating her work to the celebration of Black women.

The women in her unique portrait illustrations convey serenity and confidence as they stare into our own eyes. They are simply themselves, and unapologetic about it. Eke’s calming palettes of browns and creams further emphasize the celebration of all shades of Black skin.
