Raphael Adjetey Mayne's Portraits

Ghanaian artist, Raphael Adjetey Mayne goes crazy with mixed media in his creations. He uses everything from acrylic paint to African print fabric and colour pencil to bring the images and people from his childhood to life.

What he does is to 'capture a single moment’, and he achieves this so well in his self portrait series. He takes a snapshot of himself in a single movement, made lively by the explosions of bold colour which, coincidentally, clashes beautifully with his Black skin.
