Blurred Strength by Riah Wireko

Ghanaian artist, Riah Wireko, uses her art to discuss issues of society, justice, and equality, but most importantly, of strength and hope. She has a unique illustration style where she mixes bleeding watercolor-esque images with subliminal collaged phrases that call for help, for strength, and for hope.

She usually uses women in her portraits, many of whom look on in resilience - showing that despite some suffering, they live on. In one, the woman looks on with red eyes but she stares right on unapologetically. In another, she looks on with sad eyes and sutured lips, but she stares right on unapologetically still.
