Caribbean Galaxy by Yermine Richardson
Dominican artist, Yermine Richardson, is inspired by galaxies while being rooted in Caribbean culture. Both flow through each painting in perfect harmony. The artist uses mixed media to depict (mostly) Black women who, through their serenity and strength, seem to connect galaxies and a land infused by the colour and joy of nature and Caribbean culture.
Yermine has one of the most unique styles we’ve seen - his galaxies sparkle in a sea of black, and his ingenious brushstrokes create ethereal feathers that remind us of elaborate carnival costumes.
Here are some of our favourite pieces from the artist.
