Enjoy the Mundane with Michael Soi

Kenyan artist, Michael Soi, has never been afraid to be controversial by talking about issues that people would rather sweep under the rug. His latest works though, seem to be more relaxed - focused more on celebrating the everyday of life. Like going to the beach with friends, or birdwatching, or getting off work fast to go relax with some wine. He also has several works which celebrate womanhood - with women depicted as characters on playing cards.

His style has also recently featured more details in the form of geometric shapes that give even more prominence to his subjects while artistically revealing what they could be hiding in their insides - because even though we all go through the mundane, each person is more complicated than meets the eye.
