Imagine an Africa with sparkling oceans of sand and glossy colours blending together for eons. Mysterious, ethereal beings drifting through this dream-like vista. Earth, sky and everything in between colliding in a reality that should be impossible, but that’s brought to life anyway.
Ghanaian-Moroccan artist, David Alabo, makes this world possible. His unique take on Afrofuturism makes us wonder about not just the future of humans on earth, but of realms in between and maybe even far into the future where earth as we know it and these realms come together. These then bring up questions around divinity, death being a beautiful passage, and other imaginings.
