Love and Beautiful Women with Lord Kpuri
Nigerian Artist and Poet, Ubiomo Chinedu Ogheneroh a.k.a. Lord Kpuri, keeps us coming back for more of his work. His unique illustration style of portraying Black confident women is forever appealing. His subjects usually have one or two exaggerated features which somehow always works. There's also an element of quirkiness about many of them, which draws you in to spend a few more minutes examining the image. Whether it's a haughty expression or a serious confidence, you can almost weave a story about each of these women.
We thought it would be pretty appropriate to share some of Ubiomo’s poetry along with his images. He mainly writes these about love - from sweet to tragic; love gained and love lost. Whichever it is though, all these experiences are worthwhile.
