Van Weeghel's Dark World

Dagmar Van Weeghel is a Dutch photographer who, we would say, is an African at art (get it?)! She spent 10 years working across several African countries, and even when she went back home, she continued to reflect African women in her creations.

The most fascinating thing about Weeghel’s work is how there’s always a compelling story behind her images. Even if she doesn’t tell it, you can imagine it. Check out her recent works titled ‘Women in Antiquity’. The surreal images makes you question reality; this feeling is intensified with the intentional blurriness of some of the images. Really, anything is possible in this dreamy, dark world, but what you decide to do in it - cower or conquer, is up to you!
