American artist, Judy Bowman, uses acrylic paint and textured paper to bring to life the memories and experiences of Black Americans living in her native Detroit.

We find Judy’s art fascinating - the mixed media artist creates these beautiful and vibrant 3-dimensional artworks that celebrate community, strength and overall, the joy of living! Dignity, equity and the love of family and friends shine through each of her collages. Whether it’s a group of friends who are playing jazz together and looking and feeling dapper, or a senior man just chilling; each one of them are living life to the fullest.
